Why I want to start my own business.: I come from
a small region were work is scarce. I have worked seasonally with
aquaculture for the past 5 years, and then landed a research job for renewable
energy. During my research I have come up with many ideas, and
started attending composting conferences and workshops since last
September. I see potential for composting sewage and food waste
which are community resources. This will create a full time job for myself and
other community members while doing our part for the environment. I
have visited facility which also integrate waste management that could be an
expansion for this business. I believe this will be an intense
business plan and would be privilege to gain experience and knowledge from
other motivated successful people. I am looking forward to support,
confidence and knowledge from others and hope I will be one of the lucky 8.

Why I want to start my own business.: I am going
to start my own business because I have worked for my first nation's government
for 3 years now, and have seen many people from my community start businesses
and some succeed. I am 23 years old and feel that I am being left behind. I
attended College and received my diploma as a Fish and Wildlife Technician. I
know that I would like to start a business geared towards the outdoors and I
believe that I have an idea for a business that will succeed. With a lot of
hard work and time, I could become the owner of my own business that can grow
for generations in my family and provide some employment for my community.

Why I want to start my own business.: I am 28
years old and have always worked hard for other people's well being; now I am
ready and want to work for myself and my family. Furthermore, I want
to have control of my future. Lastly, I want to start a business in
my community that will contribute to it and bring employment to community
members

Why I want to start my own business.:I am a first nation woman living on reserve. I have finished
a college education June 2007)in print and broadcast/aboriginal media one
year ahead of schedule. I want to start my own business for a few reasons. The first
reason is the challenge and experience. The more one learns in this life, the
more they can personally grow and pass on to others.
I firmly believe I am a doorway in this life, existing so
that others may learn from me and continue farther in their own journeys.
The second reason is to help the youth in my community. My
nation is plagued with many of the downfalls seen in other reserves;
alcoholism, drug/substance abuse, gang activity. I would like to offer an
alternative way to spend 'those boring hours'.
My business idea is not only aimed towards the youth but the
general public as well.
Thirdly, I would love the opportunity to work passionately
about an idea that is my own. Becoming my own boss is a very seductive idea.
I would love to be chosen as one of the candidates for this
training. It is an opportunity that will not only open doors and my mind, it is
an opportunity for me to give hope to others in my community; that dreams and
wishes can be achieved through hard work and perseverance. Thank-You,

Why I want to start my own business.: Hi, My name
is Corrine Johnson, Mohawk of Akwesasne. I am interested in the online business
incubator workshops. I am currently getting started with the research to start
my own business. I have known since I was a teenager that if I wanted to have
what I truly wanted financially I had to be the one on top collecting all of
the money instead of helping others to make their business grow. I have been
developing my abilities for the past 10 years turning towards extrovert and
self-starter. I know that I have a dream and a legacy to start with the
business to make the world a better place to play pool. This is my goal by
sharing the game that I've developed to turn it into a worldwide franchise. I
have attended a small business management class, taken accounting, I've pursued
the education required to begin and I am ready to submit for funding on my
business plan development. I'm excited to do the online program.. I am
confident in your selection. Niawen/ Thanks,
Corrine Johnson
